This review is from: The Chrome Book (Second Edition) (Paperback)
I like Windows 7 but the ordinary PC OS can be a pain in the proverbial and my wife finds the whole thing frustrating in the extreme. But in today's world the need to do things on line has become unavoidable however much one may try to resist the pressures - the health service now refuses to accept phone request for repeat prescriptions - they must be emailed in or handed in personally.
So trying to find a solution I have been looking at Google Chrome OS which uses the 'CLOUD' or more realistically the internet and the capacity of remote secure server storage to run your computer and all its information. All maintenance, updates, virus protection and system upgrades are done centrally so there is nothing for the owner of the computer to do other than use your computer for whatever. I will still keep my desktop running Windows which also has access to Chrome via my Google account but to benefit from the full system you need a computer built for and running only the Chrome Operating System.
If this sounds too good to be true then it is probably time for you to buy this book and take the advice in it before you make your decision - I did and I am buying a laptop built for the the Chrome OS next week - its the way to go and I am convinced my wife will find her life has taken the quantum leap in to the WorldWideWeb -- will I be able to afford the on line shopping?
