Customer Review

on 26 November 2011
When I picked up Peter Baker' s book I wasn't completely sure what I had got hold of. Was it going to be a travelogue or a heavy tome about the vagaries and frustrations of life? What I had not anticipated was how uplifting the book would be. Peter through his excellent pictorial style of storytelling evoked memories of my own travel experiences when I was 19 and reminded me of the absolute delight and emotional highs and lows associated with meeting new people and locations you encounter. I could not put his book down and wanted to read more and more detail of his adventures. His underlying theories on humanity and how we are really all much better off than we think we are gives the reader plenty of new insights into the human condition. I'm still uncertain as to whether I agree with Peter's theories but his journey around the world certainly gave him clarity of thought. If you want a great read and a refreshing view of life this book is a must.
