This may sound like an overstatement but i have never read a book with so much depth, in such a field, that has been pulled off with so much class. For one i never thought id be into political thrillers but this story just glides through all the jargon that usually bog down such stories by placing a character in the setting who, like us, is oblivious to the meaning and via them, the deep subjects are broken down. And they need to be! Dan has done his research, let me say (!) and this is another pro of the book. He goes into so many topics, marine biology, political tactics, meteor science, military technology and it is due to this knowledge that the book has a scary edge. All the things he talks about really exist, things such as robots emulating drangonflies that fly, JUST as efficiently as a real drangonfly! Also the book is instructive, this is the first novel that i learnt from as well as enjoyed as a story! Things such as interesting insights into the Roswell conspiracy, political techniques and just the way the story unraveled as a massive mystery all led to one hell of an enjoyable story. There are sad parts that have never been more effective in any book i have ever read, there are many thrilling and scary parts, and twists left right and centre. I recommend this to anyone!
