5.0 out of 5 stars The best remaster so far !!, 11 Nov. 2011

This review is from: Wish You Were Here [Experience Edition] (Audio CD)
Unlike the poor DSOTM CD1 remaster, CD1 here is a great sonic upgrade with Gilmour's guitar especially good, you can now hear the percussive sound of his pick as he strikes the notes.

The jewel in the crown though is the wonderful CD2 live material, which is the opening set from Earls Court 1974, whilst the second set (contrary to one of the other reviews) is the DSOTM Live CD2, only still missing the encore (Echoes) which EMI should have included (instead of the WYWH CD2 filler tracks) as it has long circulated in bootleg circles, but not in the pristine sound quality of this wonderful live material which far overshadows the studio material IMHO.

It would be churlish to deduct a star again for the usual crappy packaging, so grab it quick before it sells out, 5 STARS !!

Think the comment about the order of play might be referring to my review of the DSOTM experience edition. You're right, it was Shine On / Raving & Drooling / Got To Be Crazy first half, Dark Side second half. Either way round, they sound great, I'm listening to the concert now as I write this. Like everyone else, wish Echoes was here too. And it would be great to have a selection of full concerts from late 60's up to the Wall available in good quality; especially stuff from the Animals tour in 77. You can find much of it online but the sound is variable to say the least! Assuming that the recordings exist in the Floyd vaults...

Will review the remastered version of WYWH when I've had a chance to hear it...
