For Jazz Piano players out there who like Oscar Peterson this is the sheet music book to buy. There are 18 tracks:
Part 1 - Classic Originals
Blues for Big Scotia
Hymn to Freedom
Place St Henri
Part 2 Oscar Peterson Plays The Blues
Blues of the Praires
These are all transcribed by Jazz Pianist Miles Black and they are very very accurate. So if you've ever wanted to know what Oscar plays here it is. Naturally this means that some of them are phenomenally difficult. Noteably Chicago Blues which is a transcription from "The Trio" album, you'll have to be very good to get this even close to the original. To help you there is very good CD that comes with the book, with all the pieces played by Miles Black.
For the average pianist this will give you some great licks and a chance to play through some of Oscar's best compositions like Hymn to Freedom and Hogtown Blues of which at least the themes are playable for mere mortals.
Buy it before it goes out of print!
