Firstly these players (for use while swimming) all take some getting used to, for running/jogging life will be simpler in their operation. Also all the issues listed below about water getting in are true, but they are not show-stoppers, you need to spend time, find a good comfortable fit (3-different sized ear rubbers are provided) and persevere, it's worth it. Once fitted properly water should not get in and they work as expected. The buttons are exceptionally fiddly, so get the player running and push "lock" before inserting in ears and starting to swim. The buttons are super-sensitive and can be activated by a bow-wave or tumble-turn. Also once you've stopped activity and stopped the player, push "lock" again, otherwise it'll run down in your bag due to the sensitivity of the buttons. I'm not sure about the 1 minute charge claim, but the 8-hours run-time is a lie; about 4 hours is more likely. Battery life is comparable with other products of this type, only difference is the Sony just cuts out once the battery goes, others start to go quiet first so you have some warning.
Pro's: best sound quality out of this type of product (I've owned the Speedo and Finis SwiMP3) biggest memory of this type (although battery doesn't last as long as contents will run for) once you find the fit/function you need, they work like a treat (Speedo pop out too easily without a swimming cap) best value for money of this product type (similar price to Speedo, less than half Finis)
Con's: not as loud as some seem to claim here; better than Finis, but quieter than Speedo super-sensitive and fiddly buttons; Finis are better, you can operate that while swimming battery life less than stated, but as good as any others in this niche
It took me over a week to sort out the fit and get used to these, but ultimately it has been worth it, the sound quality is better than I expected for a swimming product, almost as good as standard in-the-ear headsets. The only reason for the 4-stars rather than 5 is the battery life claim, it also takes about 3 hours to fully charge, but at least you know the charge status on the PC, some of the others don't include this feature. It's easy to load music from a PC (no experience of Apple), but then they all are.
