Great bridge novel,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Bridge Behind Bars... (Paperback)
What a lovely book! I nearly didn't buy it because the last book I bought with Julian Pottage's name on it was so boring, I could hardly be bothered to finish it!
Nick please write in your own name - you are brilliant!
This book is delightful with some really interesting bridge hands set in just enough "story" to make it easy to read. I really like the way he makes the players, often both declarer and a defender, think about the same hands, so we also think about it from both sides of the table. This "thinking" is the part of bridge we so often miss out on, because of course we cannot talk at the table!
The story was good too, great imagination and just enough humour. All in all a great first novel.
When is the next one due out please?

Nick Smith points out that he is also the author of Bridge Literature (Cadogan, 1992).
