I confess to have ordered the physical Cd too. I think I'm a little bit in love (platonically speaking) with Peter Broderick. This music is the most wonderful experience/combined with viewing the web site I've had for a long time. Thank you Peter for sharing your soul.
MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE WEB ADDRESS OF THE TITLE TO UNDERSTAND THE ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE PROCESS USED TO CREATE THIS PIECE OF GENIUS.
Here is a total musical genius. This Music is stunning. I have 9 other cd/mp3's by Peter Broderick, this stands up extremely well. Although musically totally different from Steven Wilson the sheer diversity of what Peter can create, just makes me jealous that I am not in anyway talented as they both are. I personally think Peter Broderick & Steven Wilson are Artists who happen to use sounds.Tthe atmosphere they both create is terribly moving. Peter Broderick in particular brings to mind many many other extremely successful musicians. Is it the sheer volume of material that is 'out there' that means such talent is not as widely known as they should be. Simon & Garfunkel, everyone knows...If you ask 'joe Bloggs' who are Steven Wilson, Peter Broderick, or even Patrick wolf who would know? How sad is that. I am just so delighted that some one somewhere recognised musical talent, and finances such fragile beauty. Not everyone cares to see 'pop stars' wriggle and writhe, to a generic R & B sound.
The diversity of music/sounds, & multi-instrumentalism, if that is a work, counts for nought, and does not translate into sales. I only get to discover new talent bizarrely through an Amazon programme which looks at what I buy and makes recommendations, and lets me listen to 30 seconds.... wish it was longer.
The internet, modern technology far from killing music is it's saviour. The scare-mongers were wrong. Back in 1997 group websites worked to help musicians without 'labels' record contracts with the music industry to get music to fans. Patrick wolf and others tried 'bandstocks' applying creativity/innovation to modern technology is the way forward. ( rant over)
The bottom line is this album is beautiful, delicate, thoughtful and largely piano led, Peter Broderick's voice is a pleasure to listen to. Please buy!!!!! Do not steal music on line!!!!The website of title is essential to the true and full experience of this piece of art using sounds.

i honestly agree to everything you say. peter has so much talent and the fact that nils frahm produced this after having peter produced his album "the bells" is mind blowing. i cannot get over this music. finally something i can get over my enduring love for bon iver.

Well, I confess to not knowing that nils frahm had made music under his own name, 'thank you' ~in inverted commas as I must buy his stuff too!!!Read my reviews of Dakota Suite, sadder, than Peter, who I am most certainly a little bit in love with platonically, obviously. Dakota suite have a very distinct sound, some times only musical/instrumental Albums, some with voice/lyrics of sheer beauty. more recent albums have been much more diverse, but still quintessentially 'Dakota Suite' albums. Bella Union as a label have several artists (in the true sense of the word workers of Art in music/sound) The only other label to even approach the collective artistic vision to 'sign' genuine sound/music Art creaters is the UK label 4ad, particularly earlier on in there career. If you don not know of these sources of creative inspiraton go and explore. The post 1989 -1997 Swans were also extremely powerful, having used brut force with sounds initially, Michael Gira/Jarboe both discovered the equally, and in many ways much more effecting power of quiter sounds, their solo and other incarnations also are astonish. But Peter's voice, the timber, the tone, does something physical to my body I can not explain, which is deeply enjoyable.Thank You very much for your reply

Mrs M Hogg says:
i had the privilege of attending a gig in York at The Duchess a year or so ago. There weren't too many of us there in the crowd and it was a rather intimate affair. I have to say that his performance moved me to tears and that's the first time that's happened at a gig before. So obsceneley talented is this young guy - that it hurts (but in a good way).
