This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Audio CD)
Kylie took a risk and seems these days embarrassed by this Indie styled effort.
But this his should not be discarded as her pretentious attempt at being taken serious yes it can be personal and pretentious but also honest and relatable. Kylie unleashed many of her demons on this album buried amongst ambient trippy beats that uplift and get you moving but also at once seem desolate and bleak. There are moments of greatness Breathe, Some kind of bliss, Dreams, Limbo, and say hey the others fall below par and melt into the album rather than coming alive and bursting forth which is IP's main issue its a little too quiet and fails to fully ignite which is a shame as all the ingredients were there just not fully realised. I hope in future she uses the more trance ambient sounds as this is a real showcase and indicator of her talent which in a sense she retained even her Noughties pop albums now have a new sense of adventure which can all be lead back to this rather interesting and exciting effort ignore at your peril.
