I've had my LG KP501 for a few months now, and have very mixed views on it.
Firstly, let's talk about the good points. It has a touch-screen, which lets you enter text by either numerical keypad, qwerty keyboard, or writing on the screen. It also has a great feature where you turn the phone sideways-up, and the display will also turn itself sideways up. On paper, the phone really does have all the features the average person could want. these include bluetooth, radio, MP3 player, vibrate alert, organiser etc.
For the bad points, firstly the lock on the touchscreen is not adequate. It is unlocked by simply holding down at one point on the touchsscreen for about 3 seconds. As a result of this, it is easy to unlock the phone without being aware of it, and to call people by accident. I have even sent text messages on occasion by accident. Also, when the memory is getting full, there is no advance warning of this - so you may type a text, then be told there is not enough memory in th phone to send it. Another issue with texts is that when you are texting one person (person A, say), and someone else (person B) sends you a text as you are typing, then the text intended for person A is often sent to person B. Another snag - the battery very quickly goes from 3 bars down to nothing. In other words there is little warning that the battery is about to cut out. And it bleeps out loud even when the phone is in silent mode as a warning for this!
Overall, I feel this phone is a great concept, but unfortunately with a number of flaws - hence only 3 stars from me.
