"Lady Chatterley" is a long, but surprisingly good French language film which is a proper "chick flick" in a way that the tacky ,glitzy "Sex and the City" isn't. After her husband is paralysed in the First World War , Lady Chatterley, played captivatingly by the attractive Marina Hands is relegated to being his nurse and deprived of sexual activity she becomes somewhat bored and listless. She succumbs to the dubious charms of the surly gamekeeper,Parkin, and embarks on an affair with him which is thankfully portrayed in a relatively romantic, sensual way rather than the sweaty ,lurid manner many sex scenes are filmed these days. The acting in this film is immense and the film is gripping, despite its length. Great characterisation also. The ending was a bit sudden and open ended however which mightn't please some viewers.
