DisappointingI for what it claims to be. I find my self in agreement with the review by C. Chalk above. My reading in philosophy has been mainly around the philosophy of belief/religion, but I found the book quite hard going. I didn't like the style of writing which assumed too much for an Introduction; it felt like the author was pursuing his own agenda rather than the title he was given. I would have been less disappointed if the product description had forewarned me of thsi and I would have chosen a different book for a first read. I tend to read these books in bed, I confess but, like Chalk I had to give up doing so with this book in order to have another reference source to hand. Hopefully, when I have read other books, I can return to this one and enjoy the informal style.
