Patrick moves to a small seaside town for a new start. He finds a room in a house with two other borders, starts seeing a girl & finds a job in a garage. Things start to look up until one moment of madness forever changes his life. Patrick is a strange character & I didn't feel like I could connect with him. I don't think I liked him but I did feel for him & what he went through. It's wonderfully written; very atmospheric & descriptive, meaning you really feel as if you are living this along with Patrick. This is a novel that will stay with you long after you finish the last line. It shows how one silly mistake or one impulsive moment can change your life forever, & makes you think about the things we take for granted or don't even notice each day.
