This review is from: Oxford German Dictionary (Hardcover)
First the good news - it's beautifully laid out and clear to read. It also had a substantial vocabulary.
Now the bad news - not substantial enough, at least for the business user. When I needed it, it fell at the first hurdle. I wanted the right word for "attachment" (as per e-mail, a common requirement these days). The entry for "attachment" gave me every sort of attachment I could think of (and some I couldn't possibly have thought of) - just not the one I needed. The business correspondence section in the middle of the dictionary ("The world of work") didn't help at all - indeed, I remember the big Collins German-English dictionary being much better in this regard.
In addition, the car was going in for service and I wanted the front wheels balanced. The correct verb (auswuchten) was missing (it was in the German bit of the dictionary, but you had to know it!).
Pity, such a nice book...
