I bought this because I'm interested in the historical background of Transylvania (really interesting in political and religious terms, as the first zone of religious tolerance in that part of Europe) and because I was thinking of visiting. But though I slogged through this to the end I was utterly confused by the plot - eventually I couldn't tell one sword-wielding noble from another.
Some lovely descriptions of landscapes and rustic scenes - shame there wasn't more of this, and less incomprehensible plot.
