Customer Review

on September 19, 2005
This second effort at Murder Mystery from Ben Elton is on equally interesting subject matter as Dead Famous.
The idea of a murderer using Friends Reunited to settle scores is fascinating and Elton shows that he has his finger on the pulse of popular culture, as always.
His characters are equally interesting and you do end up caring about them and ocassionally shaking your head over their antics.
However, there is a fly in the ointment. For me, this was not really a whodunnit, because the who became really obvious to me long before the end of the novel. This aspect spoilt it for me and made me think that Elton should stick to writing provocative comedy like This Other Eden or High Society. Murder Mystery with the emphasis on mystery, really isn't his forte.
