As an avid listener of their debut, self-titled album, I was slightly cautious about their second outing. Never forgetting that first love 'The Head and the Heart' have been cemented in my heart ever since, with the second album now under the belt I was fearful of such love being tarnished... Oh how more wrong I could have been.
Admittedly it has taken a few listens for me to warm to this unluckily numbered (argue amongst yourselves) thirteen track record, but as the lyrics have become branded on my brain it has only has become ever prevalent that the band have outdone themselves, taking a masterpiece and improving on it with depth and vigor; I can't get enough.
A level of maturity has come through in their writing that, although present in the past, has excelled in this case, taking the joyful, playful melodies of before and imbuing them with the melancholic verses of a more confident and growing band. Standout tracks include 'Cruel' and 'Fire / Fear'.
The album has only furthered my love for a band that is a breath of fresh air. I wholeheartedly recommend this album and personally cannot wait for what they come up with next.
