A good resource, but unofficial and partially recycled,
This review is from: 11+ Non-Verbal Reasoning Practice Book with Assessment Tests (Ages 10-11) for the CEM Test (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I received this free through the Amazon Vine programme
And if I'm honest, having previously bought the non-CEM version of the Non-verbal Reasoning 11+ Practice Book by CGP, had I flicked through this in a bookshop, I probably wouldn't have bothered with it, as quite a bit of question recycling seems to have occurred.
This is not an official resource, but rather one based on feedback received from pupils, parents and tutors who have previously taken the CEM 11+ (Durham University themselves remain firmly silent regarding the question types used in their papers). The book has been produced in something of a hurry by CGP to try and appease the growing parental/tutor demand for CEM-suitable materials and does draw heavily on CGP's resources for other styles of exam.
The book itself is good. It's structured so that the first sections focus on exemplifying different types of Non-Verbal Reasoning question, whilst the final section consists of 8 practice assessment tests of increasing difficulty, each featuring a range of question types.
A detachable answer booklet is included, providing detailed explanations to the solutions.
