A great aid to revising for your medical school exams in Paediatrics,
This review is from: Paediatrics at a Glance (Paperback)
The at a Glance series is perhaps one of the most well known & respected revision books series in medicine alongside the Crash Course series. These books have been used by medical students for many years & are respected for the high quality of the information that they cover.
Paediatrics at a glance, now in it's third edition has built on the success of it's previous editions and is now a highly useful title. You will find in using this title that nearly everything that you would need to know for Paediatrics in the examination setting is here with highly useful diagrams to summarize the information on nearly every double page spread. If you were to use this title then it should give you a firm foundation with only a few disadvantages to this text such as a lack of many assessment questions to allow you to assess how you are doing, a lack of pictures apart from on the rashes chapters & finally a lack of a useful chapter summarizing the common genetic conditions in children (information is spread throughout text). That said when you compare this title to it's main competitor Crash Course Paediatrics, 4e published only within the last few months, this is a far more useful title for the more visual learners out there.
Given this I would encourage any student who has not used the at a Glance series before to give one of the books in the series a try... Why not make the book you trial this one? If you have used the series before and found it useful then you will certainly find this title a useful addition to your library so I would encourage you to purchase it.
