Randall and Hopkirk Remade badly,
This review is from: Randall And Hopkirk Deceased - The Complete Second Series [DVD] (DVD)
Like series one I am left wondering why did they bother? After the awful first series why didn't they learn the lesson and give up? This series was a very poor rip off of a great series from the 60`s. The only good thing in this effort was the special effects which were brilliant. And anyone who never saw the original series would probably think this was a great show. But this has no originality about it. The acting of Reeves and Mortimar is very weak. They took a great original idea and murdered it. Adding a new character of Wyvern the spirit guide was quite a good idea but they didn't develop this enough. Generally apart from the limitations of special effects in the 1960`s there is nothing wrong with the original and "if it isn't broke don't try and fix it". Or at least not like this effort.

I realy liked the original series from the 1960s and was interested in the idea of a remke and certainly anything that expanded the idea. I found the first series of this remake very poor but did watch it all the way through and still had an interest to see if it got any better for season two. But sadly although I watched the whole of season two as well in the hope that things would improve, it didnt.
At least I gave it a fair chance and is it any wonder that there was never a season three
