This review is from: Mathematical Techniques: An Introduction for the Engineering, Physical, and Mathematical Sciences (Paperback)
This textbook is recommended for my second year mathematics course (along with others).
I have had some use out this book, but not quite the use I intended. I use it to revise and to see a different take on concepts with which I am already familiar, and for this purpose the book suits my needs. However, I struggle to use this book for initial learning of concepts. The authors seem to fall into the trap of thinking that, because the material is 'easy' to them, that it doesn't need much explanation. The textbook seems to me to be greatly inferior to Stroud's Engineering Mathematics for initial learning of concepts, but is useful for revision.
A decent textbook, but I feel perhaps undeserving of the slew of 5 star reviews.
