Rainmaker is a very varied album with harder songs like last minute on earth and More dreamy weird songs such as Serious Dreamers ( for me it is a highlight). This album is a single cd album although a limited double disc version is available. It features some very good music with lots of variety and well thought out songs. Much like Paradox Hotel I feel that it is a little bit more accessible than some of their other albums. There is some very nice guitar playing and also a very very nice drum sound is used on this album, the vocals as always are performed brilliantly and emotively, the bass keeps all the songs together with nice complex lines and fills and even has some nice little effects in places too. All in all this is a rather superb album by The Flower Kings. one of my favourites. I think this album shows that the flower kings can edit their sound enough to make a slightly fresh sounding album and are able to experiment and that maybe this time they wanted to go for a more basic hard rockish sound just for a change it keeps changing and exciting and some people obviously don't get that. the vocals are emotive perhaps slightly over the top but I think that is the point. the vocals are really good though Hasse Froberg is really good at singing and it shows on this album. Roine Stolt is too his vocals a just a little bit more subdued. this album features less keyboard and more guitar and is darker than the other albums but thats not a bad thing.
