The setting for the story is interesting and draws paralells with real life cases. However, as the story unfolds one gets an uneasy feeling of abuse, violence and betrayal. Unfortunately the writer negates all of this by making excuses for the abuser. I think it is too easy to excuse this type of abuse as insanity rather than the lack of morals and sheer evil behaviour. The book will draw you in and hold your interest and make you question decisions made by yourself or other individuals. An interesting read especially for anyone working with the vulnerable in our society.
