Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Damaged my hair by over bleaching, yes I know, silly me. I Googled the problem & quite a few sites recommended using this range of products, so I bought the Joico K-Pak 4 step range. This included; Joico K-Pak Reconstructor Shampoo, Conditioner, Deep Penetrating Reconstructor & Joico K-Pak Intense Rehydrator. Used as a 4 step procedure, these products are great for treating mushy, over bleached hair. I must stress that this product, Joico K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor Treatment, must NEVER be used on it's own & you must ALWAYS use the Intense Rehydrator afterwards, that is not an option! After 5mths of using this range, this is now my second tube & after following the instructions to the letter, plus regular trimming, my hair is now starting to return to it's pre-bleach state! It will take a long time, but without this product I would have to have ALL my hair cut off! So if you've over bleached, don't hack all your hair off, try this FULL range, it's pricey, but well worth the money, time & effort! This tube is 150ml, however if you can afford it, it would be a lot cheaper to buy the whole range in the 1L option. Good luck!

Why can't the reconstructor be used on its own - what would happen? I can't afford the whole lot!!

Mrs. D. J. Manford says:
Hi, I know, it's quite expensive, but if you used the Reconstructor on it's own, it would make your hair very, very dry & would very probably snap, causing a lot of damage! You can buy packs with all 4 steps in 100ml bottle sizes which are obviously a lot cheaper. Sorry you can't afford the whole lot, I can rarely buy the whole lot myself unless I have Amazon vouchers, or have them bought as presents, strange I know, but I couldn't afford them at Christmas time so asked for those as gifts. I now save up & buy the 1L bottles as they are so cost effective. But please do ask a hairdresser, they will tell you the same that it shouldn't be used without a hydrator!
