This film really conveys just how special Yellowstone and its wildlife is. Having spent two hot june days there I had no idea what it could be like the rest of the year. The interlinked but often conflicting survival techniques of the flora and fauna are well set out. I am just sorry that in a supposed nature film the photographers are not content to show it naturally. Large amounts of the film are either speeded up or slowed down purely for effect and as for all those arty shots like the huge sun against a black sky, well it never actually looks like that to the human eye does it? Also rather irritating is the over-use of extreme zoom. Personally I would rather see a picture of a whole moose or whatever grazing than a shot with just its nose waving in and out of the frame. Also close ups of people's or animal's feet dont do much for me. However if you dont mind the artistic pretensiousness it is both informative and enjoyable.
