it's very fun and easy to pick up. there's a great tutorial which will explain all the facets of the game so you can change the game and play it in a style you wish to, utilising Snipers, Tanks, or Infantrymen to win the war! There's almost limitless replay value too because there's a lot of maps you can do skirmishes or multiplayer on. The AI is really good, it's hardly an absolute breeze to beat but it's going to test you, fairly and well.
Although they are a bit dated now, they still look wonderfully sharp and detailed. There's nothing bad to say here really, a good point is that it performs very well on very old systems as well so you don't have to have a computer made in the last two years to play it!
One of those games you should use headphones or get a surround sound speaker system for. Each bullet, footstep or airplane engine, they all sound brilliant, and disturbingly real. The VA in the single-player campaigns sounds pretty good in general, with the odd bit of hammy VA here and there.
