Disgust and shock,
This review is from: Amazon: pay living wages to your workers (Paperback)
I read with disgust how hard Amazon works its staff and the punitive conditions they are forced to endure. My idea is that instead of jailing people, we could make them work for Amazon instead. I am sure they would not be back for more any time soon, they would be earning a wage, getting work experience, and would be so tired at the end of it, they would present no problems to the prison staff at the end of the shift. Also it would be quite safe. Given that staff are forced to wear monitors so their every move is logged and how strong the security is, and always provided suitable prisoners are selected, I can't see how it could fail.
I think this is an excellent idea. The taxpayers would benefit, the government could bank and use their wages until release and it would help rehabilitate Amazon's reputation I think I will email Theresa May with the work for Amazon scheme. In fact, I have just done so. I am sure she will be replying anytime soon.
If Amazon take this up, I might buy from them again. For now, I only use Amazon now to check prices, or to find UK retailers of hard to find products. For people wanting hard to find books, may I recommend Bookfinder.com?
