Very handy Nikon D5000 guidebook,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nikon D5000: The Expanded Guide (Paperback)
This is the first time I have purchased a camera specific user guide as previous cameras haven't had quite so many features to come to grips with. I've used a Nikon D60 and other DSLRs previously and wanted a guide book for my D5000 so I could get the most out of it. Having used the camera for a few months now I know there is more to learn about. I tried reading the user manual that comes with the camera but like most of these it is very dry stuff and not all that helpful. I have found the Nikon D5000 The Expanded Guide to be a worthwhile investment. The book is physically a good size and will fit into a jacket pocket. For me it has just enough detail to make it quite handy for getting straight to the nub of the matter in question. I don't have to read a full chapter to get the answers I am looking for. It is obviously part of a series covering various Nikon models and thus will no doubt share some chapters, such as for accessories and lenses but the writer seems to know the D5000 well and has a good, easy style of writing.
In summary I think it would be useful for a first time DSLR user as well as those like me who have upgraded to this feature packed model from other DSLRs.
