Customer Review

on 14 May 2011
This book is not at all what I expected and I'm delighted. This is, in my opinion, how history should be taught. This book covers the period from pre 18,000 BC to post 1200 AD. It covers the movement of humans across continents, and how they coped with the changing climatic conditions, ice movement, sea levels, droughts etc.. There is an epilogue covering the post 1200 situation. The author has also written 'The Little Ice Age' a companion book which covers the period 1300 to 1850. This book has helped me to appreciate the time lines involved and I'm delighted with it.
