Customer Review

3.0 out of 5 stars Predictable - Samey, 27 Sept. 2012
By
This review is from: The Fallen Angel (Gabriel Allon Book 12) (Kindle Edition)
I love Daniel Silva's books. Whilst my favourites are not the Gabriel Allon series, I do like them a lot. My first one was Moscow Rules, which I enjoyed so much. I then went back to all previous ones in the GA series and have read every new one as they were released (they are not released that quickly in the UK, so I take advantage of any trip to the US). However, the last one (Fallen Angel) is just too samey. It is becoming very cyclical and predictable the circle from Allon getting called from wherever he is most recently trying to establish a quiet life and the whole initial refusal to get involved, convincing, reconvening his squad, etc He should really retire for good. Beside, the character is getting too cocky for his own good. The special relationship with the Pope was credible but it simply now gpes too far by suggesting the Pope amends his speech in Israel thinking specificall of Allon...Also I used to like Shamron a lot. Great character, but even through the writing its becoming dull and nonsensical. The obsession with Allon having a child is so childish itself! I say Mr Silva I hope you continue writing but give Superman Allon a deserved rest.
