This review is from: Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (3 PC, 1 Year subscriptions) (PC) (CD-ROM)
The following is a complaint I sent to Kaspersky. Of course, I didn't receive a reply to this or previous lesser problems.
"I wrote to you recently regarding IS 2009 crashing when confronted by a WIN 32 worm virus (no reply as yet!). As I was abroad at the time this proved to be really annoying; I found that reestablishing the program and license was impossible and I gave up.
In desperation, and with no other alternative, I loaded Avast 4.8 which has proved to very good.
Returning to the UK I updated IS 2009 from version .357? to .506; this was an update that would solve the problem, but no.
Downloading data from the internet again proved to be too much for IS 2009. Apart from IS 2009 freezing my laptop after being confronted with a WIN 32 worm again, it decided to switch off "Protection" and to delete my license (as happened before).
After reading all the reviews for Kaspersky and deciding that this program must be better than the abysmal Norton 360, I have now loaded it in all my machines; 5 laptops and 1 desktop. But ridiculously, I'm having to load Avast 4.8 as a back up to IS 2009. Is this right??
If Avast can get it right (for free!!!!) then why can't you?
(Please note that I only loaded Avast after Kaspersky proved to be useless.)
I feel totally let down and disappointed by this situation, especially as I could be forced to change security, again."
I hope this proves to be of interest to those considering Kaspersky.
