Showing who's still the boss,
This review is from: The Rising (Audio CD)
For those people who are fed up with all the manufactured pop rubbish and abundance of cover versions that the charts are full of these days, "the rising" is a new and original breath of fresh air. For those of us who are familiar with the Springsteen style of old it's nothing less than what we expect, for those hearing him for the first time it's good enough to get them hooked and check out his back collection. This album is a perfect mix of moody ballad stlye pieces interspersed with rocky upbeat tunes that stick in the memory and get you singing them for days. While everybody has different ideas as to which songs are best, what i say is check out "This lonesome day", "Further on up the road", "Mary's place", "The rising" and the exceptional "Waiting on a sunny day", if you don't like these then you won't like Springsteen. The good thing with this album is that on first listen it appears average at best, give it time and every time you listen to it after that you find something else to like about it. I can't wait for the next one!!!
