Do you Love Liz Phair? If so you proabably love Liz's seductive, clever, and "in your face" lyrics of her three past albums. Sadly this may mean if you love her music and not her you may not love "Liz Phair". Liz Phair (the person) has decided to try out her spot in the mainstream pop world of music today. Tracks such as "extraordinary" and "why Can't I" have been in the top 40 countdown at times in 2004 and have catchy tunes that make the lyrics easy to remember; As well Liz has equired the help of the matrix in writing a few of the tracts on this album, this wrongfully has lead to critics claiming her to be like Avril Lavinge. Liz Phair even in pop is very original, her lyrics to songs such as "H.W.C" (Hot White Come) are provocative and definately not childish as Avril's lyrics are. In the tracks that Liz has written herself such as "Firewalker" and "Bionic Eyes" similarities between these lyrics are the lyrics of her past music prevails, infact Firewalker's lyrics can be interupted as Liz telling us that we might not recognise her as she explores these different genres when she sings the words "Yes I can grow, inspite of all you know. You might not recognise me tomorrow." I gave this CD 4 out of 5 stars because I believe Liz underestimates her own song writing abilities, but as far as a pop album goes "Liz Phair" would be a 5 star CD.
