Who killed Detroit? Everybody except the author it would appear! This is a fascinating insight into recent US history albeit from someone with a vested interest. In light of the recent riots and looting here in England I think I'm going to re-read my copy. Some interesting insight into policing in general as well. Some of the ideas they had in the 50s and 60s are being touted as "new" even now. Not always comfortable reading, you won't always agree with the author's opinions and sometimes the timeline can be a bit tricky to follow if you are not already au fait with the events in Detroit over the period he covers but the accessible writing style and genuinely fascinating material makes this a great read.
