The 25th Wrestlemania comes together from Houston, Texas with 3 titles and a streak on the line, legends, divas, tables, ladders and chairs. Oh My!

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Kane vs. CM Punk vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. MVP vs. Finlay vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Christian vs. Mark Henry
I was surprised how this was a dissapointment because the Money in the Bank Ladder match is always great. Don't get me wrong it was good, just not as great as the previous ones. The structure of the match seems a little off, with the dives to the outside being a little delayed than usual and became a bit too much when everyone started doing them, although Shelton's dive off the huge ladder was a Wrestlemania moment. The ladder bridge structure was cool aswell but perhaps could've done with a bit more originality, the killswitch from Christian looked botched aswell and the failed sunset powerbomb from Shelton was a shame too along with Kane's 'chokeslam' attempt of the ladder just looking like he just pushed Christian. Kofi Kingston may of outshined Shelton though I've got to say, by jumping over the ladder and dropkicking it followed by the boom legdrop was one thing, but then running up the ladder held by Henry was sweet and his ''monkey-ness'' by dropkicking Finlay through the rungs and brackets of the ladder and then tipping the ladder onto him. CM Punk winning didn't bother me though although I think I was rooting for MVP at the time. So this one did have its moments and innovative offence, it was just too botched and the structure of it wasn't brilliant I'd say. Although this was still one of the better matches on the card, but considering who was in it, It should've been better. On a side not: I don't like these new silver, taller ladders. Yes, I don't like that they're taller, I know it looks more dangerous, but it makes it harder for wrestlers to perform sufficiently off them and even though it's a ladder match, they make the ring look too clustered.
25 Divas Battle Royale for the first-ever Miss Wrestlemania
This was an embarrassment to Wrestlemania history, to the fans, to the divas, to the commentators, to everyone. This was a cluster disaster of all disasters. No one knew what was going on and it was a waste of time and talent. I definatley prefered it when it would be a divas match with the rest of the divas lumberjills. Stick to that if you have to get every diva on the card please. This is one that makes me really angry, you see I don't mind the 8 seconds ECW title matches i.e. Wrestlemania 24, after stuff like this and I'm pretty tolerable of bad wrestling. But this I just wanted off my screen and to think the Unified Tag Team Championship Match was changed to a dark match instead of the actual event. Poor poor poor poor booking.
3 on 1 Handicap Elimination Match
Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka & Ricky Steamboat vs. Chris Jericho
This was a good match that surprised the hell out of me due to the age and questionable ability of the legends. Piper and Snuka weren't like they were obviously but they did what they could for the short time they were in the match and Rowdy especially was amazing due to his agressiveness, as if he really was angry at Jericho. Then Steamboat came in and this was the surprsie of the night, Ricky still has it. He 'skined the cat', slingshot crossbodied onto the outside and proved us all wrong. This should've just been a one on one match with these two but oh well, I guess the creative team weren't aware of Steamboat's ability either. The post-match with Mickey Rourke was fitting to the storyline but was unrealistic. Jericho is suppose to be this hard wrestler, Mickey is a movie star (yes he did boxing) but supposedly Jericho would be able to take him. Oh well it is Wrestlemania and the hero is always suppose to win at Wrestlemania.
Extreme Rules Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
One of the best matches of the night, props to both men putting their bodies on the line with tables, chairs, ladders, singapore canes, trash cans, etc. This may be pg era, but they still pulled out the extreme, including Matt hitting Jeff with a chair mid-way of a whisper in the wind, and side effect on a chair, and a table sandwich which was another wrestlemania moment. The ladder spot at the end was cool where Matt moved from Jeff leaping over a huge ladder and the ending with the twist of fate with a chair being a unique and more interesting ways of winning in recent wwe history. A great match. Full stop.
Intercontinental Championship Match
JBL vs. Rey Mysterio
I said earlier I tolerate the 8 seconds matches etc. and well, I prefer them to that diva battle royal type of stuff but they are still poor. This was Rey's first mania back since Wrestlemania 22, JBL's last match, and the first IC title defence since Wrestlemania 18 and... we all got a 20 second match. Ridiculous and again embarrassing. Atleast Rey's costume was a highlight.
Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
Now, I'm sure you've all heard about this match, and how it was one of the best matches ever and if you haven't well basically these two amazing wrestlers wrestled a 30 minute match with lots of nearfalls and counters, both having perfect chemistry and the perfect storyline etc. Now I'll admit, this was a tremendous match, but I think people are over-rating it just a little bit. Personally, I thought the bit with the Undertaker dive onto the camera man spoilt the match and caused some deadtime and HBK's moonsault after looked really amature. But it was still a very good match, match of the night and match of the year.
Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Edge vs. John Cena vs. Big Show
I'll say it before I've reviewed the WWE Title Match, this match was quite good, not brilliant more of just a standard triple threat match BUT out of the 2 title matches, the most quality match should main event right? so therefore THIS should of been the main event. Onto the match though, it was like I said your standard triple threat match, although some highlights include Chavo being FU'd onto the floor, Vickie being knocked off the apron, Cena hitting the legdrop facebuster from the turnbuckle onto the floor, Edge barging Big Show through the barricade and the double FU. To be honest, this needed to be a little shorter than it was, because the action was a little slow and sloppy at times, and I think Edge should've won. I'll spoil it now sorry, but the next ppv, Edge wins it back off Cena. So it was just pointless and way too transitional just so they could have Cena winning at Wrestlemania. Still, to sum up, it was a good match, standard triple threat like I said, but it was better than the WWE title match.
WWE Championship Match
Triple H vs. Randy Orton
Since Orton punted Vince in January before the Royal Rumble, this feud hasn't just been on fire, it was an explosive inferno. It began with the punt, then the McMahons (shane/ stephanie) stepping up and after Orton RKO's Stephanie, Triple H gets involved and is more Hell bent than ever, the rage from Triple H alone, and the taunting and creepiness of Orton is just so motivational to want to watch this match. The feud was the best of 2009, the wrestlemania match, a HUGE, the BIGGEST dissapointment of 2009 and even Wrestlemania history maybe even. The disqualifications stipulation hurt this match, this should've been no disqualifications. It was slow paced, poorly booked, the crowd was dead for it, no one bit of interference which was so needed, I mean why didn't they have Stephanie and Vince come out and get their revenge, since it was Wrestlemania? Where was Legacy getting their chance to shine on the big stage and help Orton like they usually do? This was so dissapointing and I thought this would be the match of the night. Even though it's Wrestlemania, if you had any of their other matches replace this, it would be better than this. Their RAW matches have been better than this. A free TV match was better than the grandest stage of them all match. That's saying something.
So overall it was an average event and that would just be for a normal ppv. Such a let down of a night and one of my least favourite Wrestlemania's. The Undertaker/ Shawn Michaels, Extreme Rules match and Ricky Steamboat's performance were very worthy and must sees, and the ladder match is quite good too, but 2 matches are complete embarrassments, the main event is a failure and the World title match was just standard. So their 2 world title matches, well, all their title matches on the show, aren't recommendable. The lighting of the show wasn't impressive either, it looked too blue and sometimes the too much lighting just made it a struggle to see. On a side note, the dvd extra includes the Unification Match which I'd rate an 8/10 and definatley should have been on the actual show, replacing both or at least either embarrassing matches.
I wouldn't recommend this one.
