3.0 out of 5 stars Worked very well - eventually, 3 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Rolson 20857 Automatic Wire Striper (DIY & Tools)
I had used an almost identical tool for decades (literally) but lost it - this was bought to replace it. Initial impressions were good - until I tried to use it when it wouldn't work at all. The problem turned out to be that (among others) the main hinge screw was so loose that the spring was not anchored. Once I had fixed this (and tightened up the other loose screws) it worked just like the old one. Fundamentally an excellent tool - but quality control seems non-existent.

Since writing my negative review, I found the cause of the problem. The tool had been so sloppily assembled that the main pivot screw was completely slack so that the leg of the return spring failed to anchor properly. Most of the other screws were equally loose. As someone else said, no quality control. The importer should get this sorted out. I would now raise my review to 3 stars; the tool does work but stars lost for quality.
