My favourite album of Jill's before my friend bought me this one was her first album. A massive range of songs, with lyrics that are so poetic, so honest and so real. The first time i put this in my CD player i was blown away. Absolutely amazing. The live versions bring something different to the studio versions and in my opinion, many of them are better. Commanding the stage and the flow of the music Jill gets it right every single time. I especially prefere the live versions of "Slowly Surely" and "One is the magic number#". The band are killin' it (in a good way!) and it is such an honest performance from Jill who connects with her audience as though they were a few people sitting in her living room. The spoken words on "Love Rain" bring a new meaning to the poeticness of the studio version, you can sit back and really home in on the emotion behind the words. It's powerful. For me, the harmonies from the backing singers add an extra flavour to the album that makes it a treat to listen to. Each song sounds different than the studio version and thats why I love it because you get to know different ways of portraying the songs. Amazing My favourite album of all time. Groove!
