This review is from: Nintendo Handheld Console 3DS - Coral Pink Bundle with Nintendogs and Cats - Golden Retriever (Console)
When the 3DS first came out, every gamer i know rushed out to buy it, but i sat back and waited because i disliked the colours and i wanted pink and to see reviews. I had my pink Lite for 5 years and never upgraded to the DSi. So i figured now was the time to upgrade. Last week i treated myself to the pink 3DS. I didn't really know what to expect when i opened it. It looks ok in pictures, but wow, it's actually stunning in reality. I didn't want Nintendogs though because i strongly disliked the other version. But it came with it so what can you do? I've tried it, the dogs still cant grow or die so it's still pointless to me. Graphics are nice though.
But back to the 3DS. I bought Mario Kart 7 with it too just to have something to play on it in 3D. I didn't particularly like the other Mario Kart DS but this one is much better. I didn't think the 3D would be that good but it really is! It doesn't hurt my eyes or make me feel sick either. And the slider control is there if it does. But aside from that, i downloaded Nintendo Letterbox for free and now i can message all my wifi friends when i add their code. It's like an email service on DS but you actually write your own letters with the stylus. I can browse the internet on it also which is so handy when i don't want to put the computer on.
The Mii maker is pretty much the same as the Wii one but i just prefer it so much more on the DS. My own little Mii inside my DS is so cool. You can take a picture of yourself and then the Mii maker makes a Mii to look like your picture so you can get the best likeness to yourself. You can edit if you don't like it.
The original DS games look good on it too, i didn't think they would as i heard some people complaining that they looked blurred but i think they look sharper. And if you keep your wireless on while playing games, the little orange light in the corner comes on to tell you when any of your friends are online, it's too cool and i've not even tried Streetpass yet.
Is there anything i don't like? Well, i'd like the battery to last longer. I charge it up overnight on it's cute charging dock, but if i'm playing MK7 online or browsing the net or sending stuff in Letterbox i'll get maybe 3-4 hours. I have to keep reminding myself to turn the wireless off when i don't need it. And i know that somewhere at Nintendo HQ they are working on another DS, maybe with better graphics (if that's possible) or bigger screens or just something that will make people ditch their 3DS's for the new, latest thing and that can be annoying because i can't afford every new gadget! But you know what, i'm so happy with my 3DS i'll probably keep it for another 5 years like i did my Lite.
