lousy bass on all soundtracks,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: U2: Go Home - Live From Slane Castle [DVD] (DVD)
This DVD has real problems with bass. Im surprised no one else mentioned it, perhaps they are all die hard U2 fans! It has three sound tracks, PCM, DTS and dolby digital. The standard PCM soundtrack lacks bass definition and bass output. In their wisdom the engineers have excessively cranked up whatever bass the original had, making it sound wooly and boomy on the dts and dd tracks. The tuneful bass on new years day is lost, the best soundtrack being PCM. This review is based on expensive equipment. Otherwise the disk is good, good video and atmosphere at the concert.

Robert Lake says:
This is a fantastic DVD, filming, cutting, picture quality and music quality are all fantastic. There are no problems with the bass on this DVD. Any such problems comes from a poor or badly installed hifi or home theater equipment. I have played this on Harman Kardon, Linn classic move (two versions) as well as my present system Linn Unidisk 1.1 and never heard any bass problems.

Maybe your system is set up poorly or your speakers are duff and you've not heard great bass or perhaps you should get some other discs and discover how great well recorded music can sound, and then tell me that the U2 disc sounds fantastic.
