This review is from: The Boy No One Loved (Paperback)
I have read hundreds of 'this type' of book but none have got to me like this one, I was physically crying and it has really affected me. It's about a boy, Justin, who was the eldest of 3 boys at the age of 5. His 'Mother' was a heroin addict, didn't feed them, care for them, left them alone etc Justin used to witness his baby brothers that starving they ate their own mess out of their nappies whilst the dog licked the rest off their cribs, shocking. Justin used to have to perform sexual favours on his 'mothers' friends in order for her to get her ''medicine'' she would coax him how o do this with whispered words of encouragement into his 5 year old ear.
There was a whole catalogue of unbelievable abuse this poor boy suffered until he finally snapped and burned down the house and then went into VOLUNTARY care - whilst she was able to keep the other children
He had 20 failed placements before going to Casey and her husband, Mike, and the story of how they helped him merely it seems by simply loving him and caring about him is truly touching.
Highly recommend this book.
