Though our last coffee maker didn't expire because of a broken jug, breaking the glass jug was a constant fear as I admit to being somewhat cack-handed. So when the last machine expired with an electrical fault, I looked again for a machine with a stainless steel coffee receptacle like the one we had a few machines ago. (we drink a lot of coffee and have had a number of machines over the years!) Whilst looking for a suitable machine I came across this one, which actually has no jug at all and dispenses the coffee from a tank straight into your cup or usually a mug in my case. My only reservation on reading about this machine prior to ordering was that it wasn't clear from what I read whether paper filters were required. For those who dislike the waste implicit in a paper filter I can report they aren't needed. In fact because of the design of the machine any coffee grounds that pass the filter mesh, end up in the bottom of the tank rather than in the your cup. The tank and the filter parts are very easy to disassemble and clean; and of course there is no glass to break! Of course the real test is the taste of the coffee produced and I am more than happy with it and think it is as good as any other filter machine we have owned.
