Pricey, but nice little lens,
This review is from: Panasonic Lumix G 20mm/F1.7 Pancake Lens (Camera)
Bought this lens for my GF and her Olympus E-PL1, but I tend to use it a lot myself.
It really does what it is supposed to do. A small, walkaround, prime lens you're likely to leave on your camera most of the time. Of course, the main attraction is the fairly wide maximum aperture allowing you to shoot in darker conditions but also to make backgrounds fuzzier to help focused subjects pop out more. While technically not a portrait lens, it does work well for that purpose. Most of my photos taken with that lens are portraits of my baby daughter. I've gotten countless keepers.
There's little to complain about in terms of image quality. However, wide open, it does have some vignetting. but stopping down to, say, F4, eliminates most of that problem.
AF is average, but it is more challenging to get it right at a wide aperture. When shooting video, AF noises can be heard so I recommend turning off countinuous AF on your camera and to use AF before recording.
So if you don't mind paying a little extra, I definitely recommend getting this much sought-after lens for the micro four thirds format.
