Customer Review

on 14 July 2012
I love historical fiction and I love Robin Hood stories although I admit to having more sympathy with the sheriff than the hero... Angus Donald's gritty retelling is still a little on the "good old king Richard" side of the argument for me but I enjoy the books and they are a nice way to spend an hour or so in the bath. Parents should note that these are quite dark stories .... all in all a ripping yarn but maybe not so much one you will read over and over.... saying that I have read and reread outlaw several times now....... If you are looking for a new read you could do much much worse but if you have not yet read simon scarrow, bernard cornwell, giles kristian, robert low or conn igulden I would suggest you look there first.... Obviously in terms of Robin Hood stories it is one of the best out there! clear as mud?
