5.0 out of 5 stars Great but you need lots of space, 5 Nov. 2012
This review is from: Nike Plus Kinect Training (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
After more or less completing most of the achievements in ysfe2012 I eagerly awaited this. I'm not disappointed its great. The first 20 mins are spent doing a fitness assessment - after this the game seems great. I've not explored everything as I've just started its weight loss programme. The online stuff is good and you sign in to your Nike+ account which I already have for the running app on my iPhone. The tracking seems good no problems yet. My kinect is set up in a room that only has a table which I can easily move. Id imagine that there will be people disappointed in this game if they dont have enough space or furniture in the way.

I'm familiar with a lot of the fitness games. This game reminds me of EA sports active 2. It doesn't have the
pick up and play quality of your shape. You have to pick a training path like get lean, bulk up etc and stick with that for a month. The exercise routines consist of warm up, then the main session, then a cool down. During the routine you can select another main session if you want to push yourself. You can participate in challenges to try for world rankings too. You can take a break after each excercise or select continue immediately, which is a nice feature. Outside of the training paths you can select a quick session for a few minutes if you need an additional workout. The games currency is nike fuel instead of calories but they do tell you how much you have burned. After a while you are tested again to see if your fitness has improved. The game can be navigated by voice alone, handy if you want to skip an exercise you dont like, as floor exercises are the bane of my existence. Like the reviewer said this game seems to have the most space requirement I have seen in a kinnect game hopefully they can patch this out like they did with ea active. Since the exercises dont start until you are in the correct position this can be sometimes problematic but it's mainly with floor exercises. I quite like this game for the time being and will finish out a month anyway.

Yes I've completed most of the achievements on your shape which was a great game. This game is different in that its more of an exercise programme with a personal instructor where your shape you picked how ever many sets of exercises you wanted with no set programme. Your shape certainly has more to do in it (dancing yoga etc.) but for the committed who want a 'personal trainer' this one is better for that. I like that this one connects to nike + as I already use this for running and it adds the ' 'nike fuel' for both. This gives it the edge for me although I have used all the features yet (eg you can work out with a friend over Xbox live). I haven't played the demo so can't answer that question.
