I have a double-trigger bass with traditional rotors. I can get my snake through the gooseneck with the valves not engaged, but it's very difficult to get it through the valve's internal U bend on the other side. This seems to have the right combination of flexibility to go through one rotor, engaged or not. You can't push it all the way through the valve tubing and out of the bell (or at least I can't), but you can go far enough to pull it through the valve with the valve tuning slide removed.
Not quite ready to throw away my snake yet, but one of these is well worth having.
