4.0 out of 5 stars Great Screen, 10 Mar. 2012
By
This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 inch Tablet - White (nVidia Tegra T250S 1GHz, 16GB Storage, WLAN, Front Camera, Rear Camera, Android 3.1 Honeycomb) (Personal Computers)
Bought this for £279 from the Currys website which is an absolute bargain. This is a lovely light tablet with a gorgeous colourful screen (although it could be just a tad brighter). It is slick to run although the orientation sensor can be a bit finickity. If you want to stream video make sure you don't update to Flash 11, as the tablet doesn't seem to like it. The size is a lovely compromise between the 7 inch and 10 inch tablets, being dinky enough to hold with one hand and watch films on without feeling a lack of screen real estate. The tablet plays most movie files, and 720 files look great but like all Tegra 2 slates, it doesn't like MKV coded flicks. Sound quality is decent (as are the bundled headphones) and the Samsung Touchwiz interface is highly customisable.

try BSplayer, I have a tegra2 tablet and it decodes MKV really well from the storage (less well streamed as It cannot use hardware decoding)
