Wow, this book is certainly an in-depth look at the mechanics behind the global crash of a few years back. It is very detailed, with a cast of hundreds, financial products galore, and acronyms by the bucketload. I need a memory like a computer just to remember a few pages, never mind a whole chapter or the whole book. It certainly is a deluge of information, and that perhaps is a major negative, but then again as this is investigative and analytical in nature, such a negative goes with the territory. At best the book gives me a series of impressions, and an overall picture of how things came together to cause the meltdown. The rest is lost on me, but then maybe that's not important.
As a source of information for study or keen interest, this book is invaluable, and not only about the financial aspects, but also the politics, the who-knows-who networks, the power struggles, the greed, and the psychology. Complex, chilling, baffling, and ultimately rewarding in how it reveals things (the word 'madness' springs to mind more than once), this book is a work to be proud of. However, I suspect it has only a limited appeal due to its subject matter and detailed style. Nevertheless, it's recommended.
