Well. Here we are. Ive actually bothered to write a review. I thought I should, as it might help to know how good this book is for producing material for those people, like me, that spend hours staring at an empty page, looking around the room for inspiration. Plenty of lampshade, ornament and carpet material.
Ive bought and read loads of books about the ins and outs of comedy writing. And this really has to be the best. Really.
Its a bit intense at first to be fair, but once you reread about setup premises and punch premises and realise the difference between them and the actual set ups and punches, then youre on it like sonic. I realise this paragraph may not make sense if you havnt read the book. so buy it, and you'll get it.
My mind flows and spits out line after line, idea after idea, after reading just the first 4 chapters. Im producing routines effortlessly. All I have to do now is try them out at an open mic.
Buy the book. Read it. Get writing. Thats my advice.
