Customer Review

on 11 January 2007
This book is short and concise, and goes to the heart of the reasons for ECW's successes and failures. It is refreshing to have a take on ECW published by someone who wasn't involved in it, and therefore there is not the feeling that history is being re-written, which was evident in WWE's "Rise and Fall of ECW" DVD documentary. John Lister's writing is entertaining and the chapter length is short enough to make it an easy book to pick up when you only have a small amount of time to read. The book doesn't contain a huge amount of information that long-term smart marks will not know, but for those who don't subscribe to publications such as the Wrestling Observer, it should provide plenty of fresh information. Still, I will probably track down Lister's first book Slamthology on the strength of this read. Recommended.
