Customer Review

on 26 September 2010
Excellent film set around about 1969-71 in Liverpool, during the height of the Vietnam War and antiapartheid. The film is about an unemployed man with psychological problems (Eddy Ginley) who does some part time in a bingo hall. One day he places an advert in the local paper as a bit of a joke, offering his services as a private eye (gumshoe) detective, he then gets offered some work, and at first not taking the case seriously, Eddy becomes embroiled in a dangerous and complicated set of events.
For me this film is an absolute gem, using a string of quotes and one liners referring to the political and sporting events of the time.
